Don Reddan (Insurances) Ltd is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland as an Authorised Advisor pursuant of the Insurance Act 2000 to provide insurance services. A copy of the firm’s statement of Authorised Status is attached. The firm is also a member of the Irish Brokers Association (IBA).

The firm is not tied to any particular institution that would compromise its ability to offer you independent advice & choice. It is authorised to offer broad based advise in relation to all classes of non-life insurance (motor, property, liability, marine etc). A list of all our product producers with whom we hold a letter of appointment is attached as is the full list of classes of insurance covered.


Don Reddan (Insurances) Ltd is a member of the investor compensation scheme established under the Investor Compensation Act, 1998. This legislation provides for the establishment of a compensation scheme and to the payment in certain circumstances, of compensation to clients of firms covered by the Act. However, you should be aware that a right to compensation will only arise where money or investment instruments held by this firm on your behalf cannot be returned either for the time being or for the foreseeable future and where the client falls within the definition of eligible investor as contained in that Act. In the event that a right to compensation is established, the amount payable is the lesser of 90 per cent of your loss which is recognisable as being eligible or € 20,000. In addition to the Compensation available under the “Investor Compensation Act 1998” Don Reddan (Insurances) Ltd is bonded through its membership of IBA for € 200,000 with an inner limit of € 65,000 per client.

Don Reddan (Insurances) Ltd is remunerated by commission and fees. The commission is earned in full at the inception or renewal of a policy. Any fees charged will be clearly shown and will not exceed 15% of the annual premium being charged subject to a minimum of €10. Fees will be charged at renewal and for any alterations to policies during the year. At the discretion of Don Reddan (Insurances) Ltd a fee may be charged for quotation purposes of up to €100 per hour or part thereof for Directors or up to €50 per hour or part thereof for all other staff.

We will accept payments in cash and by cheque in respect of all classes of insurance in the circumstances permitted under Section 25G of the Investment Intermediaries Act 1995. We are not authorised to accept cash or negotiable instruments in any other circumstances.

If in the event that the premium is not paid within the credit terms, the product producer will be informed and a lapsing or cancellation will arise and if applicable a time on risk premium will be charged.

Don Reddan (Insurances) Ltd shall issue a receipt for each non-negotiable or negotiable instrument of payment received. This is required pursuant to Section 30 of the “Investment Intermediaries Act, 1995”. These are issued with your protection in mind and should be stored safely.

It is the policy of the firm to avoid any conflict of interest when providing business services to its clients. However, where an unavoidable conflict may arise we will advise you of this in writing before providing any business service. If you have not been advised of any such conflict you may assume none arises.
